Will Ace Bailey’s Commitment Spark A Deep Class For Rutgers?

Rutgers basketball has been on a tilt the past couple of days as five star prospect Airious Ace  Bailey committed to the university on January 15. Bailey, who is the highest recruit to ever grace the program, is a 6’9 forward out of McEachern High School, the alma mater of Jersey-born high school legend Sharife Cooper.

Bailey’s combination of size and skill allows himself separation from most players in the 2024 class. With elite shooting ability with guard-like ball handling skills, Bailey’s game can translate easily to the next level. Besides Bailey, Rutgers also has landed four star prospect Dellquan Warren to the team as well. With two high level recruits already looking to join the Scarlet Knights, major speculation arises if Rutgers can pull off more magic.

A large part of this speculation is because of five star junior guard Dylan Harper, whose older brother Ron Harper Jr. is a Rutgers Alumni. Dylan Harper, who has been making waves so far this season due to tremendous performances against the likes of Camden and Centennial High School out of California, has now the opportunity to bring Rutgers to the next level recruiting wise with Bailey and Warren committed. If Harper can follow his brother’s footsteps and commit to Rutgers, Jersey basketball will for sure make national headlines as something to look forward to in the future.

With the high school season still progressing in the new year, Harper and Bailey look to continue their stellar junior seasons as top players in the country. Will we be able to see them as teammates in a couple of years? We will all keep our fingers crossed.
