West Morris Outlasts Mount Olive to Stay Perfect and Clinch the Conference Title

In one of Morris County’s most anticipated rivalry games of the season, West Morris remained unbeaten with a hard-fought 16–13 victory over Mount Olive, improving to 9–0 and locking up the SFC Liberty White Division championship.

Both teams entered the matchup among the state’s top 25 and delivered the physical, high-energy battle everyone expected. Mount Olive struck first behind Brayden Longo’s 2-yard touchdown run in the second quarter to cut into West Morris’ early lead, but sophomore standout Deacon Frayne once again carried the load for the Wolfpack offense.

Frayne opened the scoring in the first quarter with a 3-yard touchdown and later powered in the game-winner a 1-yard rush in the fourth, finishing the night with 137 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 30 carries. His blend of patience and physicality helped West Morris control the tempo down the stretch.

Defensively, the Wolfpack leaned on their trademark discipline and strength in the trenches. Robert Fazzino and Sam Turner each made key stops, including an interception that halted a late Mount Olive drive.

After the win, Frayne credited the players up front and the group’s daily work ethic for the team’s success:

“The O-line has helped me produce at the levels I have. I couldn’t have done anything without them,” Frayne said. “We have the best O-line in the county, and it makes it great to run behind them. The team’s success comes from the dedication and effort. We work hard every day, day in and day out, and we look to get better and perfect how we play. Beating Mount Olive in this rivalry felt great and helped us win the conference, which is a big accomplishment. Heading into the postseason, we’re taking things one day at a time and not getting ahead of ourselves.”

West Morris’ latest win capped a dominant regular season built on toughness and consistency on both sides of the ball. With the conference crown secured, the Wolfpack now turn their focus toward the state playoffs — where they’ll look to carry their undefeated momentum into a deep postseason run.
