Washington Township's offense sputtered and they weren't able to take advantage. The Mariner defense stood stout, forcing a turnover on downs with 6 minutes to go in the final quarter. Toms River North was able to hold on and run out the clock, completely shutting out the Minutemen in the second half and securing a 27-10 victory. With this win, Toms River North not only moved one step closer to a third consecutive title but also set the stage for a dramatic finale at their familiar postseason battleground in Rutgers.
