The return
A Legend Reborn
Founded by Anthony Ashnault and the team at Mobbin Media, the Mobbin Classic quickly established itself as one of the most prestigious wrestling tournaments in New Jersey. Athletes came to compete at the highest level, and champions were made on its mats. Then, in 2023, the lights went dark.
Until now.
"NJ Athletics and NJ Takedown are proud to carry this tournament forward — and take it to a level it's never seen before."
NJ Athletics, New Jersey's premier high school sports media company, and our wrestling subdivision NJ Takedown have officially taken the reigns of the Mobbin Classic. The mission is simple: honor what was built, and build something even greater.

What to Expect
This isn't just a comeback — it's a statement. The revived Mobbin Classic will be the largest and most inclusive edition in the event's history.
The tournament will span five competitive divisions and feature over 70 weight classes, ensuring elite competition at every level. And in a major step forward for the sport in New Jersey, the Mobbin Classic will proudly include nearly 30 girls' wrestling divisions — a reflection of the growth and depth of the women's game across the state.
All of this takes place at one of the finest sporting venues in New Jersey: the RWJ Barnabas Health Arena in Toms River. Athletes will compete on a stage worthy of their dedication and fans will have a true event-day experience.
