Catholic Duals Event Breakdown
Wrestling fans, mark your calendars for an electrifying start to the new year! On Friday, January 3, and Saturday, January 4, Christian Brothers Academy (CBA) in New Jersey will host the much-anticipated Catholic Duals. This high school wrestling event is set to bring together some of the most competitive Catholic school wrestling programs in the region for a weekend of intense grappling and athleticism.

Tournament Format
The Catholic Duals will feature 14 teams split into four pools:
Pool A: Delbarton, Seton Hall Prep, St. Augustine
Pool B: St. John Vianney, Don Bosco Prep, Holy Cross
Pool C: St. Peter’s Prep, Bergen Catholic, DePaul, St. Mary (Rutherford)
Pool D: St. Joseph (Montvale), Red Bank Catholic, Christian Brothers, St. Benedict’s
Each team within its pool will wrestle in dual meets and two teams with the best record from each pool will advance to face off in the crossover rounds. This format ensures every match is crucial, as the results directly impact a team’s path to the championship rounds.
Best Matchups to Watch in Each Pool
Pool A: Delbarton (#1) vs. Seton Hall Prep (#16)
As the top-ranked team in the preseason, Delbarton will look to assert its dominance. Seton Hall Prep, ranked #16, has a chance to prove itself against the state’s best.
Pool B: St. John Vianney (#4) vs. Don Bosco (#10)
This matchup pits two top-10 teams against each other. St. John Vianney brings depth and experience, while Don Bosco’s wrestlers are always a tough challenge.
Pool C: St. Peter’s Prep (#3) vs. Bergen Catholic (#6)
