Red Bank Catholic bounced back from an earlier setback against Ranney with an explosive 18-3 victory on Monday, avenging its loss with a powerful display at the plate, highlighted by a five-home-run showcase.
The Casey's wasted no time establishing their dominance, quickly jumping out to a four-run lead in the first inning, capped by a towering two-run blast from Jake Frankel. Ranney briefly fought back in the bottom half, cutting the deficit in half on Andrew Parisi’s impressive two-run home run.
After a quiet second inning, RBC’s bats erupted again in the third. Already leading 5-2, Aiden Funk delivered the game's defining moment with a towering grand slam over the left-field fence, stretching the lead to 9-2. Just two batters later, Frankel launched his second home run of the day—a majestic moonshot to right, marking his fourth homer of the season and further cementing the Casey's lead.
Defensively, the Casey's also showcased their talent. In the fourth inning, Charlie Stumberger made a highlight-reel catch in right field and delivered a pinpoint throw to the plate, allowing catcher Aiden Funk to complete a sensational double play that energized the entire RBC dugout.
Stumberger continued his stellar performance, leading off the fifth with a solo home run—one of five total for RBC on the day. AJ Sciametta added another home run in a seven-run fifth inning, pushing the final tally to a commanding 18-3 victory.
Jake Frankel led the offensive charge with an extraordinary day at the plate, going 4-for-5, with five RBIs and two home runs. Funk contributed significantly with five RBIs, including his grand slam. Red Bank Catholic starter Glen Popes earned the win, pitching five solid innings and striking out four.
Following the decisive victory, RBC head coach Buddy Hausman commented on his team's response after the earlier loss:
"After the loss to Ranney earlier this week, we really challenged the guys to refocus and come out with purpose. They responded exactly how we hoped—aggressive at the plate, disciplined in the field, and resilient from start to finish. This is the kind of performance that sets the tone for the rest of our season."
