Delbarton Shines in Autism Awareness Challenge, Overcomes Holy Spirit

In a resounding display of power and strategy, No. 2 ranked Delbarton baseball claimed a monumental 14-4 victory over Holy Spirit at the Autism Awareness Challenge in North Brunswick this weekend.

The Green Wave wasted no time asserting their dominance, jumping out to a 4-0 lead in the first inning. The early offensive rally set the tone for the game, laying the groundwork for what would become a showcase of Delbarton’s batting skill. Holy Spirit managed to score on an error, bringing the score to 4-1, but Delby quickly answered with two runs of their own.

The fourth inning was a turning point as Delbarton unleashed six runs, leaving Holy Spirit trailing by a significant nine-run margin, 12-3. It was a moment of peak performance for Delbarton’s lineup, overwhelming their opponents. The final at bat of the game was marked by Ryan Holman’s two-run home run, which brought the contest to an early close, clinching a historic victory for coach Shatel.

Delbarton's offensive performance reflects on the consistency and balance amongst their line up. The Green wave finished the day with 11 hits which included 5 players with multi-hit games. As they advance to 9-1 on the year, and begin to dive into conference play, this team will look to add on to a 7-game win streak.
