In an electrifying NJSIAA North Jersey, Section 1, Group 4 final, Ramapo High School snatched victory from the jaws of defeat, edging Morris Knolls with a final score of 35-28. This Saturday showdown not only underscored Ramapo’s tenacity but also highlighted the strategic maneuvers that turned the tides in their favor at crucial moments.

The game kicked off with Ramapo setting the early pace. Quarterback Casey Grusser connected with Salvatore Livoti for an 11-yard touchdown, swiftly putting Ramapo ahead. However, Morris Knolls, refusing to be outshone early, responded vigorously. Bobby Brickner powered through Ramapo's defense to even the score with a 5-yard dash to the end zone.

As the second quarter unfolded, it was clear this game would be a rollercoaster. Liam Hayward pushed Ramapo ahead with a 2-yard touchdown run, but Morris Knolls’ Chris Kaiser swiftly countered, breaking away for a massive 50-yard touchdown run, retying the game. The back-and-forth continued with Ramapo’s Dylan Rosano responding with a 5-yard touchdown run, only for Kaiser to match it yet again with a 54-yard sprint, tying the game at 21-21. Before halftime, Ramapo would take the lead again with Rosano bulldozing in from 1-yard out.

The second half saw both teams' defenses stiffen, with each side managing only one touchdown. Chris Kaiser for Morris Knolls and Ramapo’s Dylan Rosano each recorded a 1-yard run in the third quarter, bringing the score to a nerve-wracking 35-28.

In a dramatic conclusion, Ramapo's defense held strong, preventing Morris Knolls from scoring in the final quarter, thus sealing their championship victory. Ramapo's resilience was on full display as they thwarted Morris Knolls' formidable offense to claim the N1G4 title.

Ramapo’s path to victory was paved not just by big plays but also by individual heroics, notably from players like Dylan Rosano, who not only scored multiple touchdowns but was a constant thorn in the side of Morris Knolls. Ramapo now looks ahead, riding high on the momentum of a well-earned championship, ready to challenge any forthcoming adversaries in the state matchups. The Raiders will take on Phillipsburg this Friday for a shot at the State Championship.
