In a dramatic NJISAA semifinal matchup, the Atlantic City Vikings defeated the Cherokee Chiefs 28-18, securing their spot in the sectional finals. This intense game was marked by strategic plays and critical scoring drives, showcasing both teams' will to win.

The game began with a defensive standoff, with neither team able to score in the first quarter, setting a tense atmosphere for the competitive clash that was to unfold. As the second quarter commenced, Atlantic City quickly shifted gears with Zachary Bradley-Brown breaking through Cherokee's defenses for a 3-yard touchdown run, putting the Vikings on the scoreboard.

Cherokee responded with a 22-yard field goal by Matthew St. John, showing signs of life and narrowing the gap. However, Atlantic City widened their lead before the half with a spectacular 68-yard touchdown pass from Kevin Entress to Dontae Thompson, demonstrating their offensive potency and ending the half strongly at 14-3 in favor of Atlantic City.

The third quarter saw each team adding to their tally with a one-yard touchdown run by Atlantic City's Kevin Entress and a matching one-yard touchdown by Cherokee's Cooper Burti. These plays underscored the ongoing tug-of-war between the two teams as they battled for dominance.

The final quarter heightened the drama as Cherokee attempted a comeback with Darwin Walker II catching a 19-yard touchdown pass from Cooper Burti. The Chiefs’ resurgence brought the score closer at 21-18, but Atlantic City's Sah'nye Degraffenreidt dashed their hopes with a decisive 45-yard touchdown run, sealing the victory for the Vikings at 28-18.

Atlantic City's offensive strategy was effectively led by quarterback Kevin Entress, who not only threw for 145 yards and a touchdown but also scored crucially on the ground. The Vikings’ defense also played a pivotal role, consistently disrupting Cherokee’s game plan and limiting their scoring opportunities.

This victory not only advances Atlantic City to the sectional finals but also avenges their previous season's playoff exit, setting the stage for a thrilling conclusion to their campaign. As they prepare for the finals, the Vikings are not just playing for a title but also for redemption, proving their resilience and determination to finish at the top.
