Best out of three? Red Bank Catholic claimed a narrow victory over St. Rose, winning 54-53 in the South Jersey, Non-Public A semifinal semifinal playoff bout. This game marked yet another chapter in the intense rivalry between these two top-tier Shore Conference teams, with both squads having split their earlier season matchups.

The game kicked off with St. Rose seizing an early lead, propelled by standout performances from Jada Lynch, who finished with a game-high 30 points. The Purple Roses jumped out to a quick 9 point lead behind Lynch's sharpshooting and crucial threes from Cassidy Kruesi. The Caseys finished up with a 6-0 run to conclude a 18-15 score after the first quarter. The momentum swung multiple times throughout the game, with Red Bank Catholic battling hard to narrow the gap in the first half thanks to their disciplined defense and fluid ball movement. By halftime, the game was tightly contested, with St. Rose holding a slim one-point lead, thanks to a buzzer-beating three from Lynch.

The third quarter saw Red Bank Catholic apply more pressure, leading to forced turnovers and allowing them to briefly take the lead. Nyemchek's performance was pivotal; her ability to hit key shots, including a momentum-swinging corner three, kept the Caseys in control for parts of the second half. Christina Liggio was an essential piece in this quarter as she scored 6 points and played tough under the rim. The lead changed hands several times, and the competitive nature of this rivalry began to heat up.

The final quarter was a defensive battle, with both teams ramping up their intensity. The game remained tight, and with just minutes left on the clock, the score was tied. In a dramatic finish, Lynch drew a foul and converted two free throws to give St. Rose a brief lead. However, in the closing seconds, Nyemchek managed to draw an and-one, converting the free throw to secure a thrilling one-point victory for Red Bank Catholic.

Addy Nyemchek’s last-second heroics were a testament to her clutch performance throughout the game. Her ability to step up in critical moments not only provided her team with the necessary points but also lifted their spirits and determination under pressure. "The last 6 seconds we just had to find a way to get a shot off. We knew if we lost we go home so we gave it everything I think this just helps help prepare for upcoming games".

This victory propels Red Bank Catholic into the finals of the NJSIAA Tournament, where they will look to capitalize on this momentum. The Caseys move on to face an undefeated team in Paul VI. Nyemchek reflects on last years contest with Paul VI stating "It was a great environment and really competitive so it was great way to get ready for monday. I think Paul VI is very talented so we have to have a really good game but i think we are prepared just like last year".
